Brainsport Times Oct 1, 2015

We have a fun event coming up next week for anyone who's interested in hitting the trails this fall and winter. The Salomon demo tour is going to be at the store on Wednesday, October 7 with a fleet of high-performance trail shoes to try out on our city's beautiful trails!

We're going to have two special trail groups at Run Club that evening. Salomon representative, Scott Friesen will be available to answer questions and get everyone set up. We caught up with Scott to get some more details about the event in this week's Q&A.

Q&A with Scott Friesen

Tara: You're bringing the Salomon demo tour to Brainsport next Wednesday evening. Would you tell us more about the tour?

Scott: The Salomon demo tour is a grassroots program we are hosting with accounts like Brainsport to have consumers try on trail running shoes and take them out for a test run in all types of conditions. We will have a fleet of our best performing trail running shoes available for trial in front of the Brainsport store on Wednesday, October 7. Runners are welcome to take them out for a run along the river and test them in all types of conditions. These products are designed specifically for off-road running and will truly work in the worst conditions. Just look for the Salomon tent and start a line on Wednesday evening and please come try out some remarkable trail run footwear.

Tara: How will this event play into the Nordic Ski Club's AGM?

Scott:  Salomon started as an alpine binding company in the late 60's and quickly came to develop new Nordic technologies in the 70's that were truly market-changing technologies. A few of the technologies that are used in our Cross Country ski boots are also used in our trail run footwear. The two most obvious are the speed lace system and the Sensifit. I will be on hand to
explain how these technologies give you a perfect fit and keep your foot from moving in the shoes when running on all types of terrain.

Tara: Who should come out and try a pair of Salomon's?

Scott: Anyone who is interested in running off road, or on uneven terrain such as wood chip, hard packed trail, gravel, etc. should come and try out the Salomon trail shoes.

Tara: What has you most excited about your fleet this year?

Scott: We have a new line of S-Lab products that are lighter and faster than ever.

Tara: Do you have a message you would like to send to Saskatonians before the event?

Scott: If you're looking for a new "view" of running in Saskatoon, the Meewasin River Valley has many world-class trail running options and a view that is truly inspiring. Please come out Wednesday evening and join one of the trail run leaders for an evening of exploring the upper and lower trails.
