Sightseeing - things to not miss
If you're open to enjoying some scenery and local culture hold onto your hats there is lots to see, do and enjoy in and around Saskatoon.
From Local Festivals, Carnivals, Expositions, Natural phenomena, Wildlife and cutting edge modern technology, Saskatoon has it all.
- Saskatoon is home to the Saskatchewan University and its historic cut stone buildings. It features many professional colleges and facilities doing World class research and training. The University of Saskatchewan is home to many world-class research facilities such as the Viral center, Synchrotron and leading agricultural research.
- The university is ideally suited for a stroll with many pathways in and around the grounds as well as those along the Saskatchewan River which wonders along its boundaries.
- Delta Hotel Bessborough "The Bez" nestled along the Saskatchewan river dates back to the 1930's. Stop by and take a close look at its incredible architecture. As well maybe you will see the Bez's legendary ghost believed to roam its halls.
- Learn the history of the Meewasin valley and the Saskatoon area by visiting the Meewasin Valley Interpretive Centre in downtown Saskatoon along the river.
- See the history of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan at the Western Development Museum, it's well worth a few hours and is excellently presented with the main street display.
